SCRIPT WORKSHOP AND DISCUSSION
Festival founder and filmmaker Christian Vuissa will discuss the new 7-Page Script Competition and the plans of the festival to work more closely with screenwriters to advance their craft. The three filmmakers, who selected the winning scripts and made them into a short film, will screen their films and talk about the collaborative process. The writers of the scripts will also be present. Everyone is invited to participate and join the discussion.

Roy cherishes this family connection and, even more troublesome to his elderly uncle (James Gammon), becomes convinced that Butch Cassidy didn't really die. Tracy is the writer/producer of the LDS-themed drama "The Return." After showing an earlier cut of the film at last year's LDS Film Festival, he was able to get a distribution deal with Excel Entertainment.
Tracy will talk about his experience producing a feature film and what he learned in the process, from writing a script to negotiating a distribution deal.

When her choir teacher (Angela Winston) is suspended for refusing to remove "Silent Night" from her school's winter concert, Amelia (Lauren Faber) is heart-broken. Her father (Joel Dehlin) and the family housekeeper (Frank Gerrish) use the story of Samuel the Lamanite from the Book of Mormon to help teach her the importance of standing up for one's beliefs. Through the imagination of a modern-day girl, Samuel the Lamanite's prophecy is brought to life. Watch first-hand the people of Nephi as they are persecuted for their faith by the unbelievers, led by both the ruler of Zarahemla and the sergeant of the stout-hearted band of Nephite archers (George Dyer and Clayton Vance).

Presentation: KIETH MERRILL
Kieth is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He is a two-time Academy Award Nominee, and won an Academy Award for his feature documentary "Great American Cowboy". He also directed films for the LDS Church, including "Mr. Krueger's Christmas" (1980) with James Stewart, "Legacy" (1990) and "The Testaments: Of One Fold and One Shepherd" (2000).
He recently announced the foundation of the Audience Alliance Motion Picture Studios and will talk about his future plans as a director and producer.

Presentation: CHRIS HEIMERDINGER
Chris is the writer/director of the soon to be released feature film "Passage to Zarahemla," a much anticipated adventure film that takes place in the world of the Book of Mormon.
Chris is best known as the writer of the bestselling "Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites" series. He will show clips from his film and talk about his filmmaking experience, from raising funds to releasing the final picture in theaters this spring.

Eric is the writer/director of the independent feature film "Pirates of the Great Salt Lake," which was entirely shot in Utah and stars Kirby Heyborne and Larry Bagby.
After a year of successful festival exposure for the film, he now plans to distribute the film in multiple theaters this spring. He will talk about his experience as an independent filmmaker and show clips and trailers from the film.
