7-PAGE SCRIPT COMPETITION
For the third time, the LDS Film Festival organized the 7-Page Script Competition. Out of all submitted scripts, three filmmakers selected their favorite script and made it into a short film that will be screened at this year's film festival. The goal of the 7-Page Script Competition is to foster collaboration among filmmakers and give writers an opportunity to get their work on the screen.

Blind Date on Lane 8
Writer: Stuart Heimdal Writer's home page: Blind Date on Lane 8 Synopsis: Charles finally works up the courage to ask Deanna out on a date, but he must overcome a series of misfortunes and even the laws of physics in order to arrive on time for his blind date on lane eight. |

Writer: Drew Milton Synopsis: A father overhears his young son having what could be an incriminating conversation, but ends up getting into trouble himself. |

Epines (Thorns)
Writer: Shelley Bingham Husk. Synopsis: It's Thanksgiving time when 25 year old Meghan wanders into a quaint little flower shop (Le Passionne’ Fleur). She is greeted by the owner, a middle-aged French woman, who asks her if she wants the Thanksgiving Special. Because Meghan is grieving the death of her unborn child, she believes that she has nothing to be thankful for. What transpires in Le Passionne’ Fleur over the next few minutes not only starts Meghan on her way to healing, but helps her understand that, if she puts her faith in Christ, in time, she will be thankful not only for her blessings, but for her trials as well. |

Writer: Ann Hawkins Synopsis: A young woman's father is dying and he is concerned that his daughter is not yet married. Desperate to comfort him, she tells him she is getting married. Now she has to get a guy for Dad to meet! |

The After-Scrooge
Writer: Jarren Bird, Mckay Stevens Synopsis: "The After-Scrooge" is best described as a modernized sequel to the famous classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge. In this story, 'Evan Easer,' still a changed man, is presented with an opportunity to help one of his closest friends. He relies on "unique" experiences from his past to guide him as he tries to help his friend. |
