Synopsis: Filmed at the Copan Ruins in Honduras, filmmaker Cameron Trejo creates a Book of Mormon documentary featuring the sacred events of Jesus Christ’s visit to ancient America as found in 3 Nephi. This one-hour documentary features gospel scholars and professors of ancient scripture who discuss and help interpret doctrinal accounts of Christ’s ministry among the people of Nephi. Interviews include John W. Welch, Camille Fronk Olson, and Dennis R. Deaton. In addition, photographer Mark Mabry shares his unique insights and the spiritually-charged experiences that were felt upon recreating the events portrayed in 3 Nephi chapters 9 through 27.

Carmen desperately tries to reach the sister missionaries who baptized them back in Colombia in hopes of attaining some form of assistance. As Carmen struggles to keep her family safe, her own sanity and faith are slowly revealed as the thin threads keeping them together begins to unravel.

Synopsis: Lou and Max, father and son, have always had a strained relationship. Since the death of their wife and mother, Marilyn, the two have severed all ties. Both live isolated, lonely lives, caught up in their own individual ways of coping with grief. Lou fills his days with crossword puzzles, which is more an obsession than a pastime and inadvertently a tribute to his late wife favorite hobby. Max has become completely absorbed in his job of firing people for big companies. When Lou decides to send Max a notepad full of crossword puzzle riddles, his clumsy attempt to reconnect with his son finally opens the door to a possible reunion.

The 31-year-old father of four had been to the Wrangler National Finals five times, and more than once the title had almost been his before it slipped from his grasp. Now, if he was going to win the world in 2008, he would have to outride the man he had idolized since boyhood—45-year-old Billy Etbauer, one of the greatest to climb on a bucking horse. Synopsis: This is the story about a people ignored by history. About a people with no country to call their own. About a people subjugated by genocide. This is the story of the Lemkos, a people whom you have never heard of until now, and their story will change your life. Ignored for centuries, the Lemkos were persecuted, tortured, driven from their homes, scattered, and then forgotten all because they were different. The film traces the Lemkos from their origins to the concentration camps imposed on them during World War I, to the genocide of Operation Vistula after World War II, to the reawakening of their national identity today. An emotional journey filmed on location in Poland, Slovakia, Canada, and the United States featuring interviews with historians, survivors of Operation Vistula, and many other Lemkos from around the world.

Aaron is the first wheelchair bound athlete to be recognized by the Guinness Book of Worlds Records as the first to throw a back flip while riding in his wheelchair. Freestyle Motocross Legend “Cowboy” Kenny Bartram then straps himself in a chair to see what happens. Does Kenny automatically eat it, or do they join forces and create one of the coolest action sport sequences ever shot on film?

Synopsis: Some say he has a magical touch. He is compared to renowned artist Maynard Dixon, and his paintings are the standard that all landscape painters hope to attain. In a nearly fifty year career supporting himself solely as an artist, Cedar City native Jim Jones established a reputation as one of the very best ever to paint Zion and the Grand Canyon. Jones attracts collectors of his art from all over the United States as well as from Europe. His large canvasses sell for tens of thousands of dollars. Jimmie Jones: Red Rock Painter, was shot on location in southern Utah and northern Arizona and at the artist’s spectacular home in Rockville, Utah. It includes enlightening quotes from Jones as well as important perspectives from Jones’ family and several art experts. Jimmie Jones died a month after the completion of the documentary.

Synopsis: Since the launch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Mormon Messages channel on YouTube in August 2008, its influence has grown to reach millions. Situated among the endless variety of videos available on YouTube, the dozens of videos currently available on Mormon Messages have been viewed a total of 7.5 million times. The Social Media Club of Salt Lake City, a local chapter of a larger organization, named the Mormon Messages channel the “Best Use of YouTube” during its 2009 awards ceremony. The judges said it was “a great use of a very accessible media medium for an organization with a growing global audience."
Several of the filmmakers will be at the screening and talk about their experience making these short films.

Synopsis: Rei Hamon became an artist after a back injury left him with his first idle moments. In his own words “then the art came. One door shuts and another more beautiful one opens.” The documentary follows Rei's life, as a child growing up on the East Coast of New Zealand, to rural bushman, conservationist, internationally renowned artist and loved family patriarch. Rei Hamon: Man of Nature was made with the Hamon whanau (family) and features Rei’s art, along with beautiful photographs and from an almost forgotten era.
